In the course of six months, we did this (plus a lot more):
- Sold a house & moved while 37 weeks pregnant. Put 95% of our belongings into storage, and moved into my parents house for two months.
- Had a baby girl. Did I mention she is the most beautiful baby girl in the world?
- Five weeks later, had laser surgery on my leg.
- The next day, drove our family of six, including our then two month old, across three states to secure a new job and find a house.
- Failed miserably in the house hunt. Found a temporary rental. Drove the 920 miles again to retrieve our things from our storage unit.
- Three days later, made the long drive AGAIN. This time with hubby driving a moving truck with trailer, and four year old. I had the three other kids in the minivan. Did I mention it is 920 miles?! With four kids under 7? Making the trip three times in a row?
- Moved into rental. Well, unloaded boxes into the garage at least.
- Two days later, went to California for a week. Family reunion at Disneyland, wahoo! I love me some Splash Mountain!
- Killed spiders. Many many spiders.
- Husband started new job.
- Changed manufacturer for our home business. Lots of business changes!
- Kids learned to swim. And swim they did!
- Another trip. This time to St. George for another reunion. My man had to work, so I took the four kids and he flew out to meet us on the weekend. Sadly, he did not win the Ron Swanson manly mustache contest. He got a cool consolation prize though.
- Bought a house. Well almost, we’re supposed to sign this week!
Can’t wait to get back to normal life, whatever normal means. I want to know where my things are, not just that they are somewhere in one of the boxes in the garage. I want to live somewhere, not just be staying somewhere. Being in limbo gets old after a while. It has been a crazy and stressful six months. Here is the best part of it…..
Told you she’s cute.

that surely was a crazy set of months! congratulations on the baby though and i wish you all the best of luck. thanks for posting, it was very entertaining!
